Career:
He started playing drums at age 14. Soon he joined bands and one of these bands was the beginn of Vanden Plas. Since then, he has released 12 CDs and 2 Live DVDs worldwide with Vanden Plas, and performed in shows and tours in Europe and the USA (with bands including Dream Theater and Savatage) at worldwide renowned festivals like the Wacken Open-Air or the Sweden Rock Festival. For more than 25 years he is teaching drums (www.schlagzeugunterricht-andreaslill.de). In 2010 he started AL-Customdrums, a company for building custom made drums (www.al-customdrums.de).
Bands and Projects:
He is a founding member of Vanden Plas and has played drums with Missa Mercuria, Section A, Abydos and Ian Perry. Also he is a well known live- and session drummer.
Theatre appearences:
To date, he performed at Vanden Plas rock operas (Ludus Danielis, Christ 0, Chronicles of the Immortals, Everyman, Last Paradise Lost), which were performed in several theatres in Germany and Austria. Also Andreas has played throughout Germany in musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, Chess, Rocky Horror Show and Rock of Ages to name a few.
